• Ex-WWF Wrestler Declared Fit For Trial In Wife’s M-rder Case

Former WWF wrestler Billy Jack Haynes is finally heading to trial for the 2024 murder of his wife, Janette Becraft. After a long delay, a judge ruled in February that the 72-year-old is now mentally fit to face a jury. The trial is officially set to begin in April 2027, according to KATU TV.

The charges stem from a tragic standoff at the couple’s Portland home in February 2024. When police arrived to check on a reported shooting, Haynes refused to come out. It took two hours, a SWAT team, and crisis negotiators to finally get him into custody.

Inside the home, authorities found 85-year-old Janette Becraft dead. The Medical Examiner later confirmed she died from a gunshot wound.

Haynes was charged with second-degree murder and the unlawful use of a weapon. He has pleaded not guilty.

The case has been on hold since May 2025. Back then, a court decided Haynes wasn’t mentally stable enough to help with his own legal defense. He was sent to Oregon State Hospital for evaluation and treatment, a process experts said could take years. Now that doctors have cleared him, the legal process is moving forward again.
