• Tony Khan Reacts To TNA’s Decision To Not Work With AEW
TNA’s decision to restrict its talent from working with AEW wrestlers on independent shows has already led to several cross-promotional matches being pulled. Among the most notable changes, TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater was removed from a planned match against Ricochet, while Nic Nemeth was also pulled from a scheduled bout with AEW World Champion MJF.
The situation has also forced promoters to quickly rework cards and remove previously agreed matchups. What was initially set up as cross-promotional exposure has now turned into cancellations and last-minute changes.
On the AEW Dynasty media call today, Tony Khan was asked directly about TNA’s decision to block its wrestlers from working with AEW talent.
Here’s what he said:
“I love collaboration, and I was surprised to see those matches had been changed as a result of the other companies not wanting their wrestlers involved.”
