• WWE Awarded $10 Million For WrestleMania 42

WWE walked away from WrestleMania 42 with a massive payday from the city of Las Vegas, totaling over $10 million in government incentives.

According to public records obtained by POST Wrestling, the city and state were so eager to host the event again that they actually gave WWE more money than they did last year.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) paid WWE $6 million just to bring the event to town. That is a $1 million increase over what the city paid for WrestleMania 41.

On top of that, the state of Nevada approved over $4.3 million in tax credits to help cover the costs of production.

In exchange for the $6 million sponsor fee, the city secured several perks. The Las Vegas logo was featured on WWE advertisements and at press conferences. WWE was guaranteed at least 300,000 square feet of convention space for the Superstore and the WWE World fan fest. City officials received a luxury suite at Allegiant Stadium, plus dozens of premium tickets for WrestleMania, RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

WWE told the state that it planned to spend about $35 million locally to put on the shows. This incentive strategy is exactly what WWE’s parent company, TKO, has been pushing for lately, asking cities to bid against each other to host their biggest events.

• “Hulk Hogan was a backstabbing, knife-wielding, piece of sh*t” – WWF Legend During Real American Netflix Series

On the “Hulk Hogan: Real American” Netflix series, Bret Hart talked about his issues with Hulk Hogan:

“I remember walking up to him. I was like, ‘Hey, Terry.’ I stood up with my hand out to shake his hand for about 30 seconds, but he wouldn’t even look at me. He just kept talking to (Brutus) Beefcake.

I knew right then and there. I was like I’ve got the belt and I’ve got what he wants and I’m the enemy now.”

Hogan had the following to say about these claims:

“I can’t imagine doing that intentionally. Maybe I had an off day. Maybe I was drunk. Maybe I was high. I don’t know. I don’t know what to tell you, but it wouldn’t have been intentional.”

Bret also discussed the WrestleMania 9 controversy, where he lost the WWF Championship to Yokozuna, and Hogan ended up defeating Yoko for the title minutes later:

“That day, I remember thinking what a step backwards. It was a whole different audience and they were liking me, not Hulk Hogan. I said it’s going to backfire and it’s going to be really bad. F— you.

Hulk came up with such a phoney, bulls–t match. The kind of match Hogan would dream up. He was a good guy once upon a time, but in the end, he was a backstabbing, knife-wielding, piece of s–t.”

Hogan said:

“Bret got all up in my face and he got all riled. I said, ‘What’s up with this guy? I thought he was a team player, man.’ Vince (McMahon) made the decision. It’s just one of those things.”
