• Man Behind The Latest WWE Releases Revealed
WWE released 24 wrestlers in the latest round of talent cuts. During her Twitch stream, Zelina Vega revealed that she got a call from TKO Group Holdings where it was revealed that she’s no longer with the company:
“When people call me, it would usually say Stamford calling you, and that’s when your heart’s like, ‘Oh f**k.’ But this time it said TKO, so I was like, ‘Ah, very telling.’ 5:09 PM is when I found out.”
This began speculation that TKO officials were behind the recent releases, but that’s not the case. According to Dave Meltzer, Triple H made the final decision:
“Nobody above Levesque is saying who to cut. Maybe Nick Khan, maybe not. Ari Emanuel isn’t sitting there saying we have to fire Zelina and Kairi. By and large the decision maker, for good or for bad, here is Paul. It’s like in other years where people blamed this person or that person when the decision was 100 percent Vince.
There’s not a chance TKO is ordering who to cut. It is possible they’ve got an unofficial salary cap and Levesque as the manager has to keep the number below that. Most likely the salary total would be a Khan decision, and as far as the key in the personnel decision, that’s Levesque although Khan having input and others having input is likely.
It’s like Vince would consult with a few people but at the end, it was Vince’s call, not evil Jim Ross or evil Johnny Ace or evil JJ Dillon.”
Ibou of Self Made added:
“In awe at the amount of grown adults that sincerely believe that Triple H isn’t involved in the releases of the talent roster that he selected.
Among the many hats he wears in WWE is —>talent relations. <— Ari Emmanuel and Mark Shapiro do not know who Alba Fyre is. Paul Levesque cuts from his roster when it’s time to do cuts.”
