• WWE Interested In Bringing Back Ex-AEW Champions
FTR may soon have a major decision to make regarding their future in All Elite Wrestling as new details have emerged about their contracts with the company.
The duo left WWE in 2020 after a six-year run and quickly became one of AEW’s top Tag Teams. Their latest AEW World Tag Team Championship reign came to an end at Double or Nothing last night when they lost the titles to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an I Quit match.
According to Bodyslam, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are now approaching the option year of the four-year AEW contracts they signed in 2023. The report notes that people close to the situation believe FTR view themselves as deserving top-tier money within the company due to their consistency and value to the Tag Team division.
The report also states that there has already been at least preliminary interest from WWE communicated through mutual contacts, with the situation reportedly drawing attention internally within the company.
FTR previously enjoyed some of the most acclaimed matches of their careers under Triple H’s booking in NXT, though they were openly frustrated with their main roster booking under Vince McMahon before eventually leaving WWE.
• Positive Update On Rumored WWE Return
Enzo Amore continues to be heavily linked with a return to WWE after recently visiting the Performance Center in Orlando.
The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion has been away from the company for eight years, but speculation about a comeback has intensified in recent weeks, especially with reports claiming WWE is interested in reuniting him with former Tag Team partner Big Bill (fka Big Cass) as the company looks to strengthen its Tag Team division.
According to Fightful Select, several wrestling promoters have been told that Enzo is no longer accepting independent bookings that he would normally take. As a result, many promoters believe he is WWE-bound, since returning to the company would prevent him from competing elsewhere.
Big Bill’s AEW contract is set to expire either at the end of this month or the beginning of June. As of now, he has not been offered a new deal.
