SmackDown Results – NJPW Veteran Debuts With New Name, Sami Zayn Screws Kevin Owens

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown took place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Below are the results:

– Sami Zayn complained to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about not getting justice. Cody Rhodes called Randy Orton out to the ring for a fight. Aldis stopped them and announced that if Orton and Rhodes even touch each other before their Sunday Night’s Main Event match, then they’ll never get a WWE Championship match ever again. Orton said he is Mr. Professional and won’t ruin his chances of becoming a 15-time World Champion.

– WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The MFTs (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga) (c) def. R-Truth and Damian Priest to retain the titles

Talla pinned R-Truth to pick up the win. Priest was disappointed with Truth, but still hugged him.

– Randy Orton met Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk backstage. Orton said when he beats Cody Rhodes, he’s coming for Punk and the WWE Title.

– Paige challenged Jacy Jayne for the Women’s United States Championship.

– Blake Monroe’s SmackDown debut match never started because she attacked Giulia during entrance. Prior to this, Blake told Cathy Kelley that her debut match should’ve been for the WWE Women’s Championship.

– Michin challenged Tatum Paxley to a match next week.

– Baron Corbin refused to give Trick Williams another match for the United States Championship. Lil Yachty attacked Corbin with a kendo stick. Corbin said Trick can have a title match, but he wants a match against Lil Yachty first. If Yachty can survive 5 minutes with him, then Trick will get a U.S. Title match. Lil Yachty accepted the challenge for Sunday Night’s Main Event.

– Finn Balor wished Kevin Owens best of luck ahead of Owens’ WWE Championship match.

– Lash Legend def. Tiffany Stratton

After the match, The Irresistible Forces continued attacking Tiffany, which led to Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green attacking Nia Jax and Lash with a kendo stick.

– Shinsuke Nakamura’s mystery partner was revealed to be ex-NJPW wrestler Hiromu Takahashi, and his new WWE name is Kyoki. They put The MFTs on notice and are coming for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

– Undisputed WWE Championship Match: CM Punk (c) def. Kevin Owens to retain the title

Sami Zayn attacked Punk during the match. Sami gave the WWE Title to Owens to use on Punk, but Owens refused to do so. Sami then hit Owens with the title. Punk hit the GTS on Owens for the win. After the match, Sami hit Punk and Owens with the title, and said the WWE Title coming back to him is justice.
