Former WWE wrestler Sanga aka Saurav Gurjar has been placed in 14-day judicial custody in Hyderabad following his detention at Mumbai airport by immigration officials. He was arrested after being accused of $–ual exploitation.
The arrest stems from a complaint filed in August by a 29-year-old woman, who told police that after first connecting on Instagram in 2021, Gurjar entered into a relationship with her and urged her to quit her job in the United States so they could run a business and build a life together in India.
According to her complaint, Gurjar later admitted he was already married but continued promising to settle down with her, only to repeatedly block her and cut off communication whenever she brought up marriage, culminating in him abruptly going silent after they lived together between late 2025 and early 2026.
Following an active Look Out Circular issued against him under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (which covers $–ual intercourse through deceitful means), Gurjar was intercepted flying in from the Middle East on September 17 and transferred to Hyderabad authorities, who emphasize that the investigation is still active and the allegations remain unproven in court.
The 40-year-old spent six years in WWE where he competed under the ring name Sanga alongside Veer Mahaan as part of the tag team Indus Sher until his release in 2024.
