Investigators have officially closed their inquiry into the sudden passing of wrestling star Benjamin Satterley, known to fans worldwide as AEW’s PAC (and Neville in WWE), confirming that the 40-year-old died from bronchial asthma.
A spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office told the California Post that the probe determined his death was entirely due to natural causes, with no foul play or suspicious physical injuries found.
The tragedy unfolded on the afternoon of September 27 in Des Plaines, Illinois, when a passerby spotted Satterley unresponsive inside a rental car parked outside a CAVA restaurant and called 911, with emergency personnel pronouncing him dead shortly after arriving.
Police reports noted that medication was found inside the vehicle, and an acquaintance shared that he had stopped to grab lunch on his way to fly home, which matched evidence on his phone showing Google Maps actively navigating to O’Hare International Airport.
Satterley had been in town to perform for AEW All Out just one night earlier on September 26 at the NOW Arena near Chicago, wrestling Andrade El Idolo for the National Championship and making an appearance during the main event between Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley.
PAC’s Wife Issues Statement On Her Husband’s Death
Natalie issued the following statement on her husband’s death:
“Thank you for our beautiful life darling. Twenty one years ago we became friends, nineteen years ago we fell in love and eleven years ago we were married. Two souls entwined in one; my best friend and better half.
You always worked so incredibly hard to ensure we would have a great life together, both now and once you had retired. The cruelty of having all of our future hopes and dreams snatched away will never feel real. You were so excited to get home to us, you were going to shoot hoops all week with your best mates, we were going to set up your new home gym and take Wilfie for some autumnal walks, have pizza at Rudy’s on your cheat day, go to the match, see Sam Campbell live. We’re all just waiting for you to walk through the door again darling, and the idea that will never happen is beyond comprehension.
I can’t believe it’s been over two weeks already since we last spoke, I can’t believe I’m making this post. We will try our hardest to get through this nightmare and look after each other as I know that’s what you would want, but we will miss you every minute, of every hour, of every day. Love you eternally pet ❤️”
