Old School WrestleMania Celebrity “Mr. Baseball” Bob Uecker celebrates his 85th birthday today.
Uecker appeared as the guest ring announcer for the WrestleMania III main event and returned the following year at WrestleMania IV as a backstage announcer and even did commentary for the opening match.
In 2010, the Baseball Hall of Famer was also inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame by NBC Legend Dick Ebersol.

• Ronda Rousey Reacts To Reports Of Her Taking Time Off After WrestleMania 35
As we noted yesterday, the Wrestling Observer reported that RAW Women’s Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is expected to leave WWE after WrestleMania 35.
The Observer reports that talks of Rousey leaving WWE have increased within the past week and right now that is the plan.
According to ProWrestlingSheet, Rousey won’t be leaving WWE, but taking time off.
Rousey signed a 3 year deal with WWE last year and she told WWE officials that she wants to start a family and would like to take a break in between and WWE officials agreed to Rousey’s request.
ProWrestlingSheet’s Ryan Satin noted the following:
“We’re told around Survivor Series she informed the company that it was likely she’d be taking that break after WrestleMania.”
TMZ Sports posted the following regarding Rousey’s status:
“Multiple sources connected to Ronda tell TMZ Sports she’s ‘super happy’ in her new career and isn’t ready to pull the plug just yet.”
During a recent interview with ESPN, Rousey had the following to say about these reports:
“I’ve not kept it a secret that I would definitely want to start a family.
But how do you go about doing that? I love this way more than I thought that I would. So do you just keep going until you just happen to get pregnant? Or should you stop and go try and get pregnant? Or is going and trying to get pregnant putting yourself on the spot and then you’re less likely to get pregnant? I’ve never had a baby before, I don’t know these kinds of things.
It would be kind of cool to just keep acting and then one day, ‘Hey, surprise twist, I’m pregnant.’ That would be fun. There’s a lot of things up in the air. A lot of decisions that we’ve gotta make as a family. I’m trying to figure it out as I go along.”
