• Old School WWF Manager Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 85th birthday of Old School Wrestling Legend José Lothario (Real name: Guadalupe Robledo).

José Lothario wrestled for several National Wrestling Alliance territories during his professional wrestling career, which eventually made him an NWA Hall of Famer.

He trained Shawn Michaels in the early 80s and by 1996 became Michaels’ manager in the World Wrestling Federation before the legendary WrestleMania 12 Iron Man match, where José led The Heartbreak Kid to win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship.

The last time Lothario was in Shawn’s corner was at the 1997 Royal Rumble PPV, where HBK won the title for a second time.

• Hulk Hogan’s Plan For WrestleMania 36

“The Immortal” Hulk Hogan is going to become a 2 time WWE Hall of Famer next year when the nWo gets inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame Class of 2020.

Hogan noted on Twitter that he plans to party in “nWo style” at WrestleMania 36 after their Hall of Fame induction:

“Very grateful that the four original nWo members HollyWood, Big Kev, X and Scott are getting inducted to the WWE HOF.

We are not coming back to take over and change the business again, we are just coming back to celebrate our run, get inducted and party NWO style at WrestleMania. HH”

• More WWE Releases Coming

WWE recently released 4 wrestlers – Luke Harper, Sin Cara, Konnor & Viktor of The Ascension.

According to the Wrestling Observer, more releases are coming soon. While no names were revealed, one of them could be Mike Kanellis.

Kanellis recently signed a 5 year deal, worth $250,000 per year and soon asked for his release after that.

As we noted earlier, WWE officials are open to making these releases to free up some money and use it to offer better deals to mid-card / top stars that they want to keep.
