• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran “The Mountie” Jacques Rougeau celebrates his 60th birthday today.

Along with his real life brother Raymond Rougeau, Jacques joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1986 and together they were known as “The Fabulous Rougeaus”.

When his brother Ray retired in 1990, Jacques was repackaged as “The Mountie” in early 1991, but was still managed by “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, who had already managed The Rougeau Brothers.

Despite a short run as the WWF Intercontinental Champion in early 1992, The Mountie left the WWF by the end of the year, only to return a few months later in July 1993, still dressed in a similar gear, only this time he had Pierre Ouellet by his side and together they became known as “The Quebecers”, a Tag Team that had a pretty good run with the WWF Tag Team Championship, which they won 3 times, before breaking up in the summer of 1994.

Together they joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1996 as “The Amazing French Canadians”, but returned for one last run in the WWF in 1998, before Jacques retired from professional wrestling.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOUNTIE!

• Elias Could Be Out Of Action For Almost 8 Months

A couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, Elias was run over by a car, which led to him being written off WWE TV.

Michael Cole provided an update on him on SmackDown and said that he could be out of action for a couple of months.

POST Wrestling reported that Elias legitimately suffered a torn pectoral muscle, which is why he was written off TV using the hit-and-run angle.

The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Elias could miss almost 8 months of action due to the injury:

“Generally that’s close to an eight month return, sometimes a little shorter, with surgery. Some don’t have surgery. Those in WWE confirmed the injury was legit but we have no confirmation of a surgery.”
