7. Changes In Royal Rumble 2017 Plans, SmackDown Live Dark Main Event
A couple of changes were made the Royal Rumble 2017 PPV. WWE had plans to make a huge deal out of John Cena’s 16th WWE World Heavyweight Championship victory (with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair coming out to the ring), but those plans were nixed for unknown reasons.
Also, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson defeating Cesaro & Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Titles on the Royal Rumble 2017 Kickoff Show was a last minute decision (original plans had Cesaro & Sheamus retaining).
Last night’s SmackDown Live dark main event (which takes place after 205 Live show) saw Dean Ambrose successfully retain the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz.
