A new report from CryptoManiaks has revealed that professional wrestlers, particularly women, face the highest levels of online abuse among major sports leagues. Analyzing over four million social media posts between April 30, 2024, and April 30, 2025, the study examined negativity rates toward athletes across football, the NBA, the NFL, and WWE.

According to the data, WWE star Charlotte Flair received more online harassment than any other athlete in the study, with 36.4% of social media mentions about her being negative. Nia Jax ranked second among wrestlers at 35.3%.

AEW star Mercedes Mone followed with 29.6%, while former AEW and WWE wrestlers Saraya (29.3%) and Tegan Nox (28.6%) rounded out the top five. All five women would have led the negativity rankings in any other sport analyzed, showing the severe online abuse faced by female wrestlers.
