Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Blair Davenport and Asuka.

• WWE has parted ways with multiple wrestlers, including Sonya Deville, Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar), their longtime manager Paul Ellering, Cedric Alexander, and Blair Davenport.

Blair Davenport first gained recognition in NXT UK before transitioning to NXT, where she won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge in 2023. She was drafted to SmackDown in 2024, marking what seemed to be a significant career move.

However, her time on the main roster was brief, with only a handful of televised matches. One of her most notable appearances was in the tournament for the inaugural Women’s United States Championship, where she was eliminated in the first round. Her last match took place in November 2024.

According to Fightful Select, WWE had no creative plans for Davenport after her call-up. However, there is optimism about her future, as she is reportedly expected to draw interest from several promotions worldwide.

Davenport has worked in AEW and NJPW as well in the past.

• Asuka recently reiterated her frustration with certain fans after previously asking them to stop developing romantic feelings toward her. Last month, she took to X to call these actions “meaningless” and “100% pointless.”

At the time, she revealed that she had contacted the police due to feeling unsafe and assured fans that WWE and TKO were protecting her. Despite this, some individuals have continued to ignore her request.

In a new post, Asuka emphasized that the issue persists and made it clear that these unwanted advances must stop immediately. Here’s what she tweeted:

“There are still people who have romantic feelings for me and are making advances. Please stop immediately.

It’s really troubling. Because those romantic advances toward me are completely pointless. Seriously…”

Currently sidelined after knee surgery last year, Asuka has been the subject of internal creative discussions. Fightful Select previously reported that potential plans had been pitched, including a tag team match, but that idea was ultimately scrapped.
