• Karrion Kross Attacks Ex-WWE Star In First Post-WWE Appearance
Just weeks after their contracts with WWE officially expired, Karrion Kross and Scarlett reemerged in the live wrestling world – this time under a new banner and with a vengeance.
At GCW Homecoming: Night One, the duo didn’t come out swinging as themselves. Instead, Kross and Scarlett appeared disguised as druids, aligned alongside Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) in his bout against Shotzi Blackheart.
The energy turned electric when they revealed their identities mid-match, executed a brutal attack on Cardona through a door, and then capped it off with Shotzi hitting a top-rope senton for the win, thus becoming the new Garage Beer Champion.

This appearance marked Kross’s first non-WWE role since his exit, though he’s no stranger to GCW – having competed in their Bloodsport events in recent years.
In a backstage segment after the match, Kross made it clear that his WWE departure isn’t a work:
“It’s clearly not a f**king work. I’m not sad anymore. What do you want me to do, play the violin? No. I’m gonna do what I do best, and that’s f**k people up.”
• “I don’t think WWE looks at AEW as competition” – Hall of Famer
AEW fans might read tension into WWE’s latest strategic move – running a PLE called Wrestlepalooza on ESPN, scheduled the same night as AEW’s marquee All Out pay-per-view. But according to WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley aka Bully Ray, this isn’t how WWE views the situation.
On Busted Open After Dark, Bully Ray likened WWE’s timing to the classic Monday Night Wars era and the time when WCW counterprogrammed WrestleMania with Clash of the Champions. He notes that WWE’s decision mirrors past tactics designed to dominate headlines, even if AEW isn’t seen as a full-fledged rival yet:
“I don’t think that the WWE currently looks at AEW as competition. But I don’t think the WWE is going to give AEW an opportunity to become competition.”
• RAW Star Makes Surprise Appearance At Indy Event
At Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling’s “Someone’s Knocking At The Door” event in London, England on August 22nd, WWE RAW Superstar Pete Dunne made a surprise appearance, arriving unannounced to shift the night’s momentum.
The event was reaching its boiling point in the main event, where Mark Andrews had just lost the Riot Cabaret Championship to Nico Angelo. Things took a turn when Andrews viciously attacked the new champion with a steel chair – only for Dunne’s entrance theme to hit, and the crowd to explode as he charged the ring and rescued Angelo.
Well hello Pete Dunne. It's been a while… pic.twitter.com/upn6mViw75

This London cameo wasn’t his only non-WWE appearance this month. Earlier, on August 2nd, Pete Dunne appeared at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV event, where he beat Jonathan Gresham.

• WWE Re-Shot The Ending Of SmackDown Due To Logan Paul’s Botch (Video)
Yesterday’s SmackDown aired LIVE from Dublin, Ireland on Netflix for fans outside of the United States. It aired at the usual time on the USA Network later. In the closing segment, Nick Aldis met John Cena and said he just talked to Brock Lesnar and… Logan Paul knocked out Cena before Aldis could continue.
In the version that aired on Netflix, it was clearly visible that Logan didn’t connect with the punch.

WWE fixed this in the USA Network version by re-shooting this segment from a different angle, where Logan pushed Aldis before punching Cena. You can watch it below:

WWE has been counterprogramming AEW PPVs a lot as of late. This Sunday will feature AEW’s Forbidden Door PPV and NXT’s Heatwave PLE. On September 20th, WWE will air a main roster PLE head-to-head against an AEW PPV for this first time ever, as it will be Wrestlepalooza vs. All Out.
During an interview with TV Insider, Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) was asked about her reaction to WWE’s counterprogramming measures. Here’s what the AEW TBS Women’s Champion said:
“I don’t watch them. I don’t care about them. I’m 8 Belts Moné. I’m a champion of so many different companies. So the more the merrier. If they want to put on wrestling shows while we have wrestling shows, I’m always going to be better. That’s why I call myself The CEO.
They can keep on doing whatever they want to do, but AEW is taking over. If you want to watch the best, good wrestling, watch AEW.”
