Mark Henry has revealed that he apologized to Kairi Sane after making critical comments about her performance at WrestleMania 40, but it turns out there were no hard feelings to begin with. During an episode of Busted Open Radio, Henry recalled running into Kairi and Asuka and deciding to clear the air. As he told it, he hadn’t had a chance to speak with Sane since the incident and wanted to explain himself face-to-face.

“I saw Kairi Sane and Asuka talking,” Mark said. “And I said, ‘Man, I’ve never got to address Philadelphia WrestleMania where I said that if I was a woman and I was wrestling Kairi Sane, I would take her head off.’”

Henry had previously criticized Sane for continuing to do her pirate gestures during the entrances of other wrestlers, specifically Bianca Belair. At the time, he felt it was inappropriate and took the spotlight away from others.

“She got her entrance,” Henry said. “And then when I think it was Bianca’s entrance came, she kept doing the pirate thing, and she ate up the time.”

But when Mark brought it up in person, he learned Kairi didn’t take it personally. In fact, Asuka quickly reassured him.

“I said, ‘Can you let Kairi know that I did not threaten her? The internet said that I threatened her,’” Henry explained. “I said this, and Asuka interrupted me and said, ‘No, we talk about this. She told me that it was like teaching. It was like learning.’”

The moment ended with a hug between the two.

With the situation settled, Henry also fired back at fans who had stirred controversy over his original remarks: “All of you fans out there that came for me, kiss my a$$, because you manufactured hate and angst between two wrestlers when it was a teaching moment.”
