Before achieving fame in pro wrestling, AEW star MVP overcame a troubled past that included time in prison and a stint as a gang member.
While speaking on his Marking Out podcast, MVP revealed that he wants to turn his life into a movie and has talked to Batista about it.
“I have considered it many times, but I’m one of the laziest hard working people you will ever meet and I have not begun that manuscript because I don’t want a ghost writer.
I want to write it myself, just like Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, and Bret Hart. They actually wrote their own books.
I have thought about it and many people have asked me about it. It’s something I want to do. I actually talked to my good friend Dave Bautista. We’ve talked about, with his production company, taking the step to turn my life story into a movie.
It’s something that I trust Dave to do it. I wouldn’t trust anybody with it because my life story is not PG. It’s rated R. Rated X, legit. We have to get PG-13 at minimum. It’s something Dave and I talked about, and it’s on the backburner.
My life is a movie, a movie in the making. From my teenage years in Miami as a graffiti artist/gang member, becoming an armed robber and going to prison. Nine and a half years in prison and all the bullsh*t I survived and saw in there.
Coming out, being a bouncer and bodyguard on south beach and selling weed and steroids to support my wrestling habit. Going on to eventually making it as a professional wrestler.
It’s been talked about many times, I just haven’t done it yet. Eventually, hopefully, before this ticker gives out, we’ll get it done. Dave, can we get together and talk about this at some point?”
MVP will be in action on this week’s post-WrestleDream episode of Dynamite, where The Hurt Syndicate will battle The Opps for the AEW World Trios Championship.
