• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (February 17, 2017) – Old School WWF Valet Passed Away

On this day in 2017 we lost Old School WWF Attitude Era Diva Nicole Bass at the age of 52 after a stroke.

Nicole Bass was a professional bodybuilder from 1985 till 1997, before she got into professional wrestling and joined Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1998.

At WWF WrestleMania XV in 1999 she made her World Wrestling Federation debut as the female bodyguard of Women’s Champion Sable.

During Nicole’s final days with the promotion she was in a team with fellow WWF diva Ivory, before leaving the promotion for good.

She left and filed a lawsuit against the WWF, claiming that she was sexually harassed by “The Brooklyn Brawler” Steve Lombardi. The case was dismissed in 2003.

Bass then continued to wrestle on the independent scene, including matches for Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW), NWA Jersey and World Xtreme Wrestling.

REST IN PEACE NICOLE BASS!

• Old School Wrestling Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of Old School Wrestling Veteran Yoshi Kwan aka Chris Champion (Real name: Christopher Ashford-Smith).

Ever since 1984 Chris Champion was wrestling for several territories, including a Tag Team run in Jim Crockett Promotions as one half of ‘The New Breed’, as well as working in Memphis for a few years, where at one time he even wrestled a few matches as “Kowabunga”, wearing a ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ bodysuit & mask.

Probably his most memorable run came in 1993, when he wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling as Yoshi Kwan, billed as asian and managed by Old School NWA Legend Harley Race.

He passed away on August 22, 2018 at the age of 57.
