• Former WrestleMania Main Eventer Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WrestleMania XI Main Eventer ‘L.T.’ Lawrence Taylor celebrates his birthday today.

Taylor appeared on WCW TV in 1991 and in 1995 played a role in a major WWF storyline that led to a main event match at WrestleMania XI.

Lawrence Taylor and the late great Bam Bam Bigelow main eventing on the grandest stage of them all in 1995 marks the first time, last time and only time that a celebrity (Non professional wrestler) ever main evented a WrestleMania in a singles match.

He has yet to be inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame.

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (February 4, 2016) – ECW Veteran Passed Away

On this day in 2016 we lost Old School ECW Veteran Axl Rotten (Real name: Brian Knighton) at the age of 44 due to a heroin overdose.

Axl Rotten briefly appeared in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1991 but eventually became famous while wrestling for Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1993 till 1999, most notably feuding with his kayfabe brother Ian Rotten and later teaming up with Balls Mahoney.

His last major appearances were at WWE’s ECW tribute show ‘ECW One Night Stand’ in 2005, aswell as TNA’s ECW tribute show ‘TNA HardCore Justice’ in 2010.

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (February 4, 1987) – WrestleMania Celebrity Passed Away

On this day in 1987 we lost Old School WrestleMania Celebrity Liberace (Real name: Wladziu Valentino Liberace) at the age of 67 due to an AIDS related-pneumonia.

In 1985 Liberace appeared on the first ever WrestleMania as one of many celebrities (including Muhammad Ali & Cindy Lauper) and was used as the special guest time-keeper for the main event of the night, Hulk Hogan & Mr. T versus Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff.

He’s one of the many former WWF celebrities, who are currently not inducted into the ‘Celebrity Wing’ of the WWE Hall of Fame (yet).
