• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (January 23, 2024) – Old School WCW Veteran Passed Away
On this day in 2024 we lost Old School WCW Veteran Ice Train (Real name: Harold Hogue) at the age of 56.
Ice Train most famously wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1993 & 1994, as well as from 1996 till 1998.
In mid 2000 he returned to WCW once more, this time as M.I. Smooth, “The Cat” Ernest Miller’S personal assistant, and stayed with the company till it was sold to Vince McMahon in march 2001.

• Old School Wrestling Legend Would Celebrate His Birthday
Today would have been the birthday of Old School Wrestling Legend Giant Baba (Real name: Shohei Baba).
He is still considered one of the most famous & most influential japanese Wrestlers of all time.
Most will also remember Giant Baba as the promoter of AJPW All Japan Pro Wrestling, as well as a close personal friend of fellow Pro Wrestling Legend André The Giant.

• Old School WWF Legend Celebrates Her Birthday
Old School WWF Legend Leilani Kai (Real name: Patty Seymour) is celebrating her birthday today.
Leilani Kai was on top of the world during the so called “Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection” days of the Golden WWF Era, when she defeated Wendi Richter at WWF The War to Settle the Score to become the WWF Women’s Champion.
Leilani lost the title back to Richter a month later at the inaugural WrestleMania, and later started to form a Tag Team with Judy Martin, called The Glamour Girls, managed by “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart.
In 1994 Kai challenged then WWF Women’s Champion Alundra Blayze for the title at WrestleMania X, but lost.
The 2 would wrestle several more times in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where she was later also known as “Patty Stonegrinder” and Alundra was known as Madusa.

• Old School WWWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the birthday of Old School WWWF Veteran Dominic DeNucci.
DeNucci wrestled for Vince McMahon Sr.’s World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), that was later renamed World Wrestling Federation, on and off between 1967 and 1982.
He won the WWWF World Tag Team Championship with 2 different partners, but his most famous accomplishment was training Mick Foley & Shane Douglas, who eventually ended up becoming Wrestling Legends themselves.
