• Old School Wrestling Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of Old School Wrestling Legend Gorgeous George (Real name: George Wagner).

During the 40s & 50s, the overly flamboyant and charismatic Gorgeous George was far ahead of its time, which is why still to this day, professional wrestlers from all around the world can be seen copying certain elements of the character.

In 2010 he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his old friend The Destroyer (Dick Beyer).

• Old School Wrestling Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School Wrestling Veteran “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels (Real name: Daniel Christopher Covell) celebrates his birthday today.

Christopher Daniels was under developmental contract with the World Wrestling Federation from 1998 until 2000, where he was mostly used as a Jobber on shows like Sunday Night Heat & Shotgun Saturday Night.

He then wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 2000 & early 2001, followed by more televised WWF Jobs in 2001, mostly on Jakked/Metal.

Daniels eventually made a name for himself in Total Nonstop Action!, where he wrestled from 2002 till 2014.

He also competed on pretty much all the bigger indy companies, which earned him the unofficial nickname “The King of Indies”.

• Old School Wrestling Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of Old School NWA/WWF Veteran The Spoiler (Real name: Don Jardine).

After a long and successful career in several Territories, The Spoiler joined the World Wrestling Federation roster in the summer of 1984.

When the WWF purchased Georgia Championship Wrestling to get their TBS timeslot, The Spoiler was a house hold name, whom the TBS viewers were familiar with, so Vince signed him to a deal.

When he went to the WWF, the NWA stripped him of the NWA National Heavyweight Championship, that he held at that time.
