2. Hacksaw Jim Duggan Talks About Meeting Daniel Bryan For The 1st Time Ever & Thinking He’s Not Going To Make It, Comments on Hulk Hogan’s Big Win Over Gawker Media

During a recent appearance on WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ podcast, fellow Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan talked about meeting Daniel Bryan for the first time ever, working with The Rock’s father and grandfather & more. Below are the highlights:

On thinking Daniel Bryan wouldn’t make it when seeing him early in his career:

“That’s what I tell kids. There’s a guy who had the desire and heart. When I first met him, I said, ‘I don’t think he’s going to make it.’ But he worked hard, had the heart, the desire, and the drive. And he became a great wrestler, so I say, ‘chase your dreams because you never know.’ Every once in a while, that brass ring, you grab it.”

On working with The Rock’s grandfather Peter Maivia and father Rocky Johnson:

“I went up to New York and I worked with Vince McMahon Sr. a little bit and they sent me to Hawaii where I worked for Maivia. So I said I worked with The Rock’s grandfather, I worked with The Rock’s father, and I may get The Rock at WrestleMania! Yeah right! Not a chance in hell!”

Below is what Duggan said about Hulk Hogan’s big win over Gawker Media:

“Hogan is one of my buddies for over 30 years. He gets more bad press than anybody. He’s a good man. He took care of his boy after what he went through. Gawker got what they had coming to them.”
