Bret Hart was upset during SummerSlam due to a seating issue, which led to a public comment involving Kevin Nash’s name. Hart claimed he was invited to the event and told he would have a seat in the crowd, but upon arrival, no seat was available for him.

Hart said: “I went to SummerSlam. They invited me down and they told me that they wanted me to be in the crowd. Then they told me once I got there, they didn’t have any seat for me. But I noticed Kevin Nash got a seat. So I don’t know. I maybe finally realized that I don’t think they fully appreciate me.”

On his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash clarified that he did not attend SummerSlam as a spectator. He was at the MetLife Stadium for a signing event from approximately 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. He stated he knew he wouldn’t have a seat for the show, which is why he didn’t stay to watch it.

The implication from Hart’s comment was that Nash received preferential treatment due to his friendship with Triple H and the WWE office.

Nash went on to call Bret to clear the air:

“I actually called Bret today. I said, ‘Bret, I stopped going after they put me in a f**king box, and the monitor in the box didn’t work, and the ring was so f**king small and we were so far away that we had to watch, like, look up and watch the f**king Tron, like, with no f**king announcing’. It’s bad enough to f**king have to watch f**king wrestling without f**king being able to f**king fast forward through sh*t, let alone no f**king announcing and volume.

Bret has to realize that he f**king left and went to WCW. He put on the gray. I put on the gray, I understand that. I was part of the f**king people that almost put that f**king place out of business, so I’m never going to be treated the same as everybody else.”

Nash also revealed that The Undertaker didn’t get a seat either:

“From what I heard, Taker wasn’t real happy. Somebody saw Taker at the show and he was sitting in a TV room watching a monitor.”

• ESPN Will No Longer Cover AEW (Photo)

In a move that’s come much sooner than anticipated, ESPN is set to broadcast a WWE premium live event called “Wrestlepalooza” on September 20. This surprise announcement comes ahead of the two companies’ planned 5-year partnership, which was expected to begin in 2026. The event will take place live from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

ESPN will also be showing two other major WWE PLEs this fall: “Crown Jewel” on October 11 and “Survivor Series” on November 29. These broadcasts will serve as a preview of what’s to come once the new long-term deal is in full swing.

Even though ESPN is set to broadcast the rest of WWE’s 2025 main roster PLEs, Peacock has not sold its remaining rights. Instead, the deal was made directly between WWE and Peacock, with ESPN being brought in afterward.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a key factor in this arrangement is the belief that by making WrestleMania and SummerSlam two-night events, WWE essentially fulfilled its quota of Premium Live Events for Peacock ahead of schedule. As a result, Peacock’s final WWE main roster PLE will be Clash In Paris on August 31.

While WWE’s PLEs are moving to ESPN, a new agreement has been reached to bring new WWE main roster programming to Peacock. Details on what this new programming will be are expected to be announced in the near future.

Due to their partnership with WWE, ESPN will no longer cover All Elite Wrestling on their website, and they have even removed the AEW section.

• John Cena’s Retirement Match Date Officially Announced

Even as WWE’s main roster premium live events move to ESPN, the company has secured a new multi-year deal with Peacock. This new agreement will see Peacock exclusively stream four “Saturday Night’s Main Event” shows each year.

The new deal builds on an existing relationship, as a revived version of “Saturday Night’s Main Event” has been airing on both NBC and Peacock. As part of the new arrangement, Peacock will stream two “SNME” events exclusively this year, with the first on November 1st and a second on December 13th, which will feature John Cena’s retirement match.

While the main roster PLEs are shifting to ESPN, the WWE Network library will remain on Peacock until the end of 2025. Additionally, NXT premium live events will continue to stream on the platform through March 2026, and the SmackDown library will also be available on a 30-day delay.
