• Tony Khan Opens Up About His Biggest AEW Regret

Tony Khan has looked back on 6 years of AEW, revealing both the move he’s proudest of and the moment that still weighs heavily on him. When speaking on My Mom’s Basement podcast, Khan called his ongoing relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery the best decision he’s made since launching the company. He credited the partnership for AEW’s steady growth and the ability to connect with more fans through new platforms.

“This year we really expanded it with the HBO Max simulcast and we’ve been able to reach a new audience,” Tony said. “A lot of fans, and particularly skewing younger with a younger audience, are primarily watching streaming. And HBO Max is one of the best streamers. We didn’t have that until this year. So that’s huge, and I think that’s been absolutely fantastic. That partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery has been a lifeblood of AEW.”

Khan also pointed out that AEW’s programming on TBS every Wednesday and TNT every Saturday has been a key part of the relationship. “We’ve got a great thing. And we were able to build it and grow it. You know, I want to continue and we are continuing to grow,” he added.

While the Warner Bros. Discovery deal stands out as a career highlight, Tony Khan’s biggest regret is a personal one. He revealed that he never got to feature ROH Hall of Famer Jay Briscoe on Dynamite before the wrestler’s passing, despite multiple attempts.

“I fought really hard to get Jay Briscoe on the show,” Khan said. “There were multiple times where Mark and Jay Briscoe came to Dynamite and didn’t do anything. And they just came and I brought them, and I was trying to, I kept pulling moves. It was a different time. It was a different management, it wasn’t Mr. David Zaslav. I could have now literally gone to him. I fought really, really hard to get Jay Briscoe on the show, but I really wish I’d been able to have Jay Briscoe on Dynamite just one time. And he came to the show many times. That’s my biggest regret by far.”

Jay Briscoe died in a car crash on January 17, 2023. He was 38 years old.

• Tiffany Stratton Apologized to Charlotte Flair, But Stands By Her Promo

Tiffany Stratton confirmed she personally apologized to Charlotte Flair after delivering an unscripted jab about Flair’s 0-3 marriage record during their SmackDown promo on the road to WrestleMania 41. On the Impaulsive podcast, Stratton said she went off-script in the heat of the moment, and Triple H made it clear backstage she needed to clear the air with Flair. She stated she had no issues apologizing.

Stratton explained she was fully willing to take responsibility. She added that she felt her actions were justified, even if she maybe went too far. Here’s what the WWE Women’s Champion said:

“Charlotte Flair is Charlotte Flair. She’s a legend. I was the champion at the time. Things were heated. She’s very competitive. I’m also very competitive. I’m trying to prove to Charlotte Flair that I can go and stand up to her and am worthy of this title. Sh*t got heated. We both went off script. It happens. I did have to apologize. That was that.

I’m someone that can fully embrace being in the wrong. I had no problem apologizing. I think what I did was justified, but maybe I shouldn’t have gone that far. I do feel like I was justified in what I did.”
