Tony Khan Reveals The Gate For AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024

• During the post-show media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 PPV drew a gate (revenue from tickets) of over $1 million from 11,000 fans in attendance at the UBS Arena in the Long Island hamlet of Elmont, New York.

This was the 3rd consecutive year where Forbidden Door drew a gate of $1 million.

3 New Champions were crowned on the show. Jack Perry won the vacant TNT Title, Tetsuya Naito won the IWGP World Heavyweight Title and Mercedes Mone became a double champion by capturing the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title).

Also, Britt Baker made her long awaited return.

• On the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door Zero Hour, House of Black (Malakai Black & Brody King) defeated Tomohiro Ishii & Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong & NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabriel Kidd, and Private Party in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match.

“Brody King will be okay, he’s okay. That was a scary move and he is okay. He will be able to continue wrestling and everything’s okay there. Tomohiro Ishii is a dangerous wrestler.”
