• Top WWE Star Criticizes Travis Scott For Screwing Up The WrestleMania 41 Main Event
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has never been one to hold his tongue, and this week he turned his fire directly on rapper Travis Scott for his controversial involvement at WrestleMania 41. Appearing on the latest episode of the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul, McIntyre vented his frustrations about the unexpected role the hip-hop star played in the show’s main event. During the conversation, McIntyre said: “Do a six minute run in at WrestleMania & screw up our damn main event. Travis Scott. That piece of sh*t.”
According to McIntyre, Scott’s appearance was not only longer than expected, but also directly disrupted the flow and finish of a match which had been heavily hyped for months. While celebrity join-ins at major WWE shows are nothing new, it’s rare to hear a top star openly airing their grievances.
Travis Scott indirectly helped John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win the WWE Championship, thus becoming a record-breaking 17-time World Champion. In the process, Scott got hit with the Cross Rhodes.
Scott was expected to have his debut match at Money In The Bank 2025, where he would’ve teamed up with Cena, but that didn’t happen. Cory Hays questioned what happened which led to multiple WWE plans for Travis being canceled:
“Wonder what happened with WWE and Travis Scott. He hasn’t been mentioned at all. He was looking to work a match with Cena and that doesn’t look to be happening. And he was supposed to be the celebrity for 2K25 and that’s not happening either since it got replaced by El Grande Americano.”
WrestleVotes had the following to say about this: “I heard he was ‘not a quick learner for the business.'”
Travis Scott was said to be training with Booker T earlier this year. At Elimination Chamber, Scott injured Cody with a slap.
• CM Punk Reveals Why Triple H Threw Away His WWE Return Promo Script
Wrestling is full of tough moments, but even the most seasoned pros can get butterflies under the right circumstances. CM Punk opened up about a surprisingly vulnerable moment from his high-profile WWE return in 2023 – and the helping hand he received from none other than Triple H. Speaking with SPORTbible, Punk shared that backstage before his return promo in 2023, he was more nervous than most fans would ever expect. Updating fans on the emotional moment, Punk admitted he actually brought a sheet of paper with his planned promo written out word-for-word, worried about nailing his lines after so long away from the WWE spotlight.
That’s when Triple H stepped in. Sensing Punk’s nerves, Triple H took the sheet of paper from him, crumpled it up, and tossed it aside, reportedly telling Punk to just go be you. According to Punk, that simple act took the pressure off – a reminder that the best promos come from the heart, not from a script. Here’s what Punk said:
“I was running around with a piece of paper in my hand that had whatever I was supposed to say. I keep looking at it. Triple H gets up and comes up to me and goes, ‘What are you doing, man? You’re freaking everybody out.’ ‘What do you mean I’m freaking everybody out?’ ‘Nobody here has ever seen you hold a script in your hand and read it like you’re not just going to go out there and say whatever the hell you want.’
I’m like, ‘Oh, well, you know, I’m new around here. I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes.’ He grabbed the piece of paper, crumpled it up, and threw it out. ‘You’re CM Punk. Just go out there and talk to the people.’ ‘Right. Right.’ That’s what I needed to hear because I’m trying to move in a certain way, and he’s like, ‘No, go be you. That’s why you’re here.”
