• WWE Set To Counterprogram AEW’s All Out PPV

WWE is preparing to shake up the wrestling calendar this fall, as the company is set to run a premium live event head-to-head with one of AEW’s biggest shows of the year. According to multiple sources who spoke with POST Wrestling, WWE has locked in a PLE for Saturday, September 20, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The timing is notable, as it lands on the same date as AEW’s All Out 2025 pay-per-view, which will emanate from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. While start times for WWE’s event have yet to be confirmed, All Out is slated to kick off at 8 PM Eastern.

If the schedule holds, it will mark the first time in history that a WWE main roster PLE has gone head-to-head with an AEW pay-per-view. However, WWE has shown a willingness to overlap with AEW before – NXT PLEs have previously shared dates with Double or Nothing, All In Texas, and Forbidden Door earlier this year.

• Ex-World Champion Calls Out Triple H For Releasing Him From WWE

A fan tweeted the following to WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H about former Universal Champion Braun Strowman:

“#WWESummerSlam sure highlights a guy they cut from the roster in @Adamscherr99 a lot in promo highlights whether it be on @netflix Unreal or on the preshow for SummerSlam. Makes you wonder why the hell he was cut if they are using his image and likeness so much? @TripleH”

Strowman replied: “Cause someone made a stupid business decision!!!!”

Braun recently showed support for Karrion Kross too, after Triple H ignored “We Want Kross” chants from fans during the SummerSlam 2025 – Night 2 post show:

“You know they don’t care about the fans!!!!! They care about nepotism a$$ kissers and their buddies!!!!”

• Finn Balor Teases Going After John Cena After What Happened In 2021

John Cena has a handful of matches left in his WWE career. A fan tweeted the following to World Tag Team Champion Finn Balor:

“Hey, Finn Balor, you most likely won’t see this, but don’t forget Cena screwed you out of your SummerSlam match against Roman in 2021. I think you should get payback, just a thought.”

Balor replied: “Finn never forgets.”

The fan was referring to events from July 2021, when Finn Balor was set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. During the contract signing on SmackDown, John Cena interrupted, signed the contract himself, and inserted himself into the match. This led to Reigns vs. Cena headlining the event, while Balor was pushed out of the title picture entirely.

Balor eventually got his shot against Reigns at Extreme Rules 2021, wrestling under his “Demon” persona. However, the match ended in controversial fashion when the top rope collapsed just as Balor was about to hit his finisher, allowing Reigns to retain the title.
