• WWE’s Current Champions Prove AEW Has Booking Issues, Says Hall Of Famer
Speaking on the Dukes Loves Rasslin podcast, D-Von Dudley gave his take on AEW’s creative struggles, pointing to the fact that several of WWE’s current champions were in All Elite Wrestling.
He noted that CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Ricky Starks, and Stephanie Vaquer all had AEW ties before reaching championship success in WWE.

“It just goes to show you – if you’re booked the right way, it can happen,” D-Von said. “AEW has phenomenal talent, maybe even better than WWE in some ways, but the numbers don’t reflect that.”
D-Von believes the issue isn’t talent, but leadership.
“It’s not the wrestlers – it’s what’s going on behind the scenes,” he said. “Somebody has to be the Vince. You can’t let the inmates run the asylum.”
He added that AEW’s creative direction and lack of discipline have prevented it from reaching its full potential.
“With that much talent, there’s no reason you can’t sell out 10,000 to 15,000-seat arenas,” D-Von said. “The booking has to be stronger, and someone has to take charge.”
