• WWF Legend Will Return For AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door

Jim Ross is heading to London. The veteran commentator confirmed on his Grilling J.R. podcast that he’s been asked to call matches at the upcoming AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event. “I’m going to London and that’s a hell of a building,” Ross said, referring to the O2 Arena.

He shared that Tony Khan personally reached out to him about the show. “Found out this week that, via my communication with Tony Khan, that he wants me to be in London at The O2 to call a couple matches,” he said.

Before the event in London, AEW will hold Dynamite and Collision in Glasgow, Scotland. Both shows are expected to feature the final hype and more match announcements for Forbidden Door. Jim Ross didn’t specify which matches he’ll be calling.

• Former World Heavyweight Champion Announces Retirement

Jake Hager (fka Jack Swagger) is officially done with professional wrestling. The former star of WWE and AEW shared the news during a recent episode of the ‘Rule Breakers with Saraya’ podcast. When asked about his current plans, Hager didn’t hold back. “I’m getting out of wrestling. I pretty much, I could say I’m retired from it,” he confirmed.

Now, Jake is putting his energy into a new venture. He started a trucking company called Hauling Oats, based in Tampa, Florida. Laughing, he added, “I’m not driving, got people driving. But yeah, I’m excited. Something to stick my teeth into. Hard work always pays off.”

Aside from professional wrestling, Hager also tested his skills in the MMA world, compiling an undefeated record in Bellator during a brief stint.

• Big Update On Karrion Kross’ WWE Status

Since SummerSlam, rumors have circulated about Karrion Kross’s WWE future. After his match with Sami Zayn on Night 1, many speculated he might be leaving WWE, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

The Wrestling Observer addressed the situation, revealing that Kross and Scarlett’s contracts are nearing expiration. However, the report confirmed that WWE has made a new offer to Kross.

“I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract. I heard that that is legit, but that he did get an offer. The story that he didn’t get an offer, and maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written, it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer. I don’t expect him going anywhere.”

Though their contracts aren’t finalized, it’s likely the duo will stay with WWE.

The report also suggested that the contract drama might be a creative angle. The buzz and fan support, such as chants of ‘We Want Kross’, could be building momentum for a bigger push. WWE’s promotion of Kross’ memoir Life is Fighting backs up this theory, since it wouldn’t make sense to heavily promote someone about to leave.

• Interesting Reason Behind WWE’s Legal Team Clearing Brock Lesnar for a SummerSlam Return

Brock Lesnar’s shocking return at SummerSlam 2025 wasn’t a creative decision alone – it was only possible after WWE’s legal team decided to remove the hold on him. The move raised questions backstage and among fans about what led to that sudden change in stance.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the timing has a lot to do with WWE’s perception of ongoing legal matters tied to Vince McMahon. While Janel Grant’s attorneys maintain that nothing is certain and a judge has confirmed the investigation into McMahon is still active, the prevailing belief within WWE is that no criminal case against McMahon exists.

This belief reportedly took shape earlier in the year, around the time the SEC concluded its separate investigation into McMahon in January. However, the civil trial connected to Grant’s lawsuit is still moving forward.

The Observer suggested that WWE may now consider Lesnar’s legal risk minimal. If the lawsuit ends up in arbitration, Lesnar’s name becomes irrelevant in the proceedings. Likewise, if WWE expects the matter to settle out of court, any references to him in the case would likely have little impact on the company.

In short, it appears the company’s legal department is now confident enough to allow Lesnar back into storylines – believing that whatever comes next in the McMahon case won’t affect his standing in WWE.
