Raw is War – included the new WWF World Champion Steve Austin cutting an in-ring promo to open the show in which he asked Vince McMahon to come out so he could relinquish the world title belt; after giving Vince the belt, Austin had footage shown from Breakdown in which McMahon ran off with the Smoking Skull belt and later said it would be put above his fireplace at home; Austin then demanded that Vince go home and give him back the Smoking Skull belt by the end of the show or he would . him up; moments later, as Austin was looking the other way, Vince hit him with the title belt and ran backstage; featured X-Pac cutting an in-ring promo in which he said DX would not die and that he and the New Age Outlaws would continue to raise hell, then said he would fight Triple H later in the show; included the Undertaker calling Vince McMahon on the phone backstage to torment him after kidnapping Stephanie; featured Vince McMahon telling Ken Shamrock he would always be indebted to him for finding Stephanie and then telling Shane to simply give Steve Austin his Smoking Skull belt after it was brought to the arena from Greenwich, CT; included a closing segment in which Shane McMahon cut an in-ring promo in which he said that if Steve Austin wanted his Smoking Skull belt back, he would have to go through the Rock; moments later, the Rock came out with the belt over his shoulder and cut a promo on Austin, with Austin coming out soon thereafter and the two men brawling around ringside; the ensuing battle saw Austin hit the Stunner on Shane, Rock hit Austin with the Smoking Skull belt, and other members of the Corporation – including Triple H, Test, and Ken Shamrock – help in .ing the champion down; moments later, the Big Show came out to help clear the ring, with Triple H sustaining the chokeslam from Show:
Ivory & Tori vs. WWF Women’s Champion Sable & Jackie when Tori vs. Jackie with a backslide at 1:25 after Sable hit her own partner in the back with the women’s title belt; after the bout, the Ministry – the Undertaker, Paul Bearer, Gangrel, Edge, Christian, Viscera, and Mideon – came to the ring with Taker holding Sable as bait for Vince McMahon to come ringside; after Vince came out, he quickly realized it was a trap; when he ran backstage, he found that Stephanie had gone missing
The Big Show vs. Test with a boot to the face and the chokeslam at the 30-second mark; after the bout, Show cut a promo directed at Vince McMahon, saying no one owns him
WWF Hardcore Champion Hardcore Holly vs. Steve Williams (w/ Jim Ross) after Al Snow came out of the crowd, hit the challenger over the head with a frying pan, and pulled Holly on top of Williams; moments prior to the finish, Williams hit the Oklahoma Stampede powerslam on Holly through a table set up in the ring but referee Tim White had been knocked out; during the bout, JR joined the Spanish commentary team
The Rock (w/ WWF European Champion Shane McMahon) vs. Billy Gunn with the Rock Bottom / People’s Elbow combo at 5:21; during the bout, Shane did guest commentary
Ken Shamrock vs. Gangrel via submission with the ankle lock at 5:35 after hitting a belly to belly suplex; after the bout, the lights flickered and Shamrock was attacked by Edge & Christian, with Shamrock sustaining a bloodbath; when the lights came back on, Shamrock immediately locked Christian in the ankle lock, with Christian confessing that Stephanie McMahon was being held in the basement; after the commercial break, Shamrock was shown searching in the basement for Stephanie where he eventually found her
Goldust (w/ the Blue Meanie) vs. WWF IC Champion the Road Dogg to win the title at 4:09 with the Curtain Call after Meanie hit Road Dogg in the face with the title belt as the champion was against the ring ropes; early in the bout, Ryan Shamrock came out to be in Goldust’s corner but the Blue Meanie and Goldust wouldn’t allow her to be ringside and Meanie quickly sent her backstage; after the bout, Goldust cut a promo saying he now knew who he was and soon everyone else would too
WWF Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Jeff Jarrett (w/ Debra) vs. the Legion of Doom (w/ Paul Ellering) at 2:49 when Owen vs. Road Warrior Animal after Jarrett broke his guitar over Animal’s back, moments after Hart sustained the Doomsday Device
X-Pac vs. Triple H (w/ Chyna & WWF European Champion Shane McMahon) at 3:34 when X-Pac chased an interfering Shane into the ring and sustained a clothesline from Chyna; after the bout, X-Pac was .en down and sustained the Pedigree until Kane came out; after Kane took a chair shot to the head from Triple H, he quickly sat back up and stalked Triple H & Chyna backstage; Triple H used the “No Chance” McMahon song as his theme
