On this day in 2015, we lost Old School Wrestling Legend Nick Bockwinkel at the age of 80 due to undisclosed causes.

He had a triple bypass heart surgery 8 years before his death.

Bockwinkel is remembered for being a 4 time AWA World Heavyweight Champion, holding the belt for a total of 2,990 days!!!

In 2007, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his former manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan.

As seen on last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan defeated “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles to win the WWE Championship.

Let’s take a look at 10 interesting stats from Styles’ WWE Championship reign:

– Styles’ second WWE Title reign ended at 371 days.

– While Styles failed to break CM Punk’s record of 434 days as WWE Champion in a single reign (longest WWE Title reign of the modern era), Styles did surpass Punk in total combined days as WWE Champion in multiple reigns. Punk held the WWE Title twice and for a total of 463 days. On the other hand, Styles has now held the WWE Title for a total of 511 days in his two reigns so far.

– Styles is now ranked #12 on the list of names with most combined days as WWF/E Champion. The 11 names that are above him are the following:
