WWE is going to India after almost 6 years, to do their Live Event titled “WWE Superstar Spectacle” on September 8th.

So far, only one match has been officially revealed. Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal has announced that India’s own Indus Sher (Veer Mahaan & Sanga) will challenge Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.

Also, this event will feature the second match of the year for John Cena.

It’s possible that WWE books John Cena vs. Grayson Waller for this event. Waller confronted Cena at Money In The Bank 2023 and Cena laid him out with the Attitude Adjustment.

After WWE announced Cena’s return news, Waller tweeted:

“Make sure you wipe your feet before you visit my house.”

Cena will return on the September 1st episode of SmackDown, before he travels to India. So it’s possible that WWE sets up his match on that episode of the blue brand.

During an interview with Busted Open Radio in May, Cena said he wishes he could still wrestle a full-time schedule in WWE today, but at the age of 46 and doing this for over two decades, his body can’t handle it anymore.

He also said that what he has left in the tank is what you saw at WrestleMania 39.

Cena tweeted the following about visiting India:

“Cannot wait to reunite with the WWE family live on SmackDown! Especially excited to meet the WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the FIRST TIME EVER in India! The time is NOW…. C U all VERY soon!!!”

While WWE Superstar Spectacle won’t air LIVE on the WWE Network / Peacock, it will likely be aired on TV in India, as they did that in 2021 as well, for the first ever edition of Superstar Spectacle (which was filmed in the US at the WWE ThunderDome).
