• 2 Debuts Could Take Place On This Week’s SmackDown

According to Fightful Select, WWE Officials have plans to bring former NXT UK Champion WALTER (now known as Gunther) and former NXT Tag Team Champion Marcel Barthel to the main roster.

This main roster call-up could take place as soon as this Friday’s SmackDown, as they are scheduled to be a part of the blue brand.

Gunther’s stable on NXT was known as Imperium. Fabian Aichner was also a part of it, but he isn’t getting called up as of this writing.

This Tuesday’s episode of NXT 2.0 indicated that Aichner is no longer a part of this group.

In the main event of this week’s NXT 2.0, Gunther lost to Bron Breakker in an NXT Championship match, which could turn out to be his final match on the developmental brand.

• Old School ECW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School ECW Veteran Michael Kovac (Real name: Martin Hutter) celebrates his 52nd birthday today.

While Michael Kovac is still considered to be one of the most famous wrestlers in all of Europe, the fans here in the United States only remember him for his brief 1998 stint in Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling, where he was basically used as a Jobber to the stars.

Outside of Europe, where he first made a name for himself in Otto Wanz’s Catch Wrestling Association, Kovac also wrestled for several Japanese companies over the years, most famously Battlarts in 1997, which was a (worked) shoot wrestling promotion.

He is currently signed to Qatar Pro Wrestling, where he performs among well established stars like Alberto Del Rio, The Great Khali, Carlito, Chris Masters, Rob Van Dam, … and many others.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL KOVAC!
