Former WWE Superstar EC3 recently won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, when he defeated Tyrus (former WWE Star Brodus Clay) in the main event of the August 27th ‘NWA 75th Anniversary Show’ PPV.
On the new episode of their weekly show ‘NWA Powerrr’, NWA World Television Champion Thom Latimer ended up challenging EC3 for the World Heavyweight Title at NWA Samhain.
NWA Samhain will air exclusively on pay-per-view on October 28th 2023.

What happens is, that Latimer – who is also a former WWE Superstar (Kenneth Cameron) and TNA Wrestler (as Bram) himself – will relinquish the World Television title, after defending it 7 times, in order to earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, according to the new ‘Lucky Seven’ rule.
Be that as it may, at this point in time, EC3 is expected to come out victorious after their battle, considering that it’s his first title defense and most people expect him to have a longer run with the belt and represent the National Wrestling Alliance for some time, pretty much like Nick Aldis, who ended up holding the title for several years.
After coming up in FCW & NXT under the name Derrick Bateman from February 2009 until May 2013, he joined Total Nonstop Action! (TNA, now IMPACT Wrestling) in September 2013 as Ethan Carter III (or short, EC3), the kayfabe nephew of promoter Dixie Carter.
He won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions and wrestled for them until January 2018, with his pre-taped appearances airing until March that year.
EC3 then returned to NXT right away and even made it to the main roster by the end of 2018, before being fired due to COVID-19 pandemic related budget cuts in April 2020.
