• 2 History Making Moments Took Place In The WrestleMania 39 Saturday Main Event
Tonight’s WrestleMania 39 Saturday took place at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. 80,497 WWE fans were in attendance.
Below are some interesting stats from Night 1:
– John Cena wrestled his first match at WrestleMania since 2020 and this was his 3rd straight loss at WrestleMania. His last win at WrestleMania was at WrestleMania 33 in 2017. Since then, he has lost at WrestleMania 34 (2018), WrestleMania 36 (2020) and tonight at WrestleMania 39 (2023).
– Tonight was Logan Paul’s 5th WWE match and his 3rd straight loss.
– Every WrestleMania match Charlotte Flair has been in to date has been a Title match.
– The Usos’ Tag Team Title reign ended at 622 days, which was the longest Tag Team Championship reign in the history of WWF/E.
– Tonight was the first time a Tag Team Title was defended in the main event of WrestleMania. The only other Tag Team Match that main evented WrestleMania was at the very first WrestleMania in 1985 (Hulk Hogan & Mr. T defeated Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff), but no titles were on the line in that match.
– Another history making moment took place in the main event tonight when Sami Zayn kicked out of The Usos’ finishing move: 1D (which they took from The Dudley Boyz). No one else has kicked out of this move, until tonight.
