WrestleMania 40 showcased WWE’s continued dominance, setting new records and thrilling fans worldwide. However, amidst the triumph, plans for significant returns were unexpectedly shelved.
A recent report from Fightful Select revealed that WWE had intended to feature Trish Stratus and Lita in a segment during WrestleMania XL, but these plans were ultimately scrapped.
While details of the proposed segment remain undisclosed, it’s evident that alterations were made to the initial arrangements involving these legendary figures of WWE.
Here’s what they reported:
“There was some Trish Stratus and Lita integration in a WrestleMania segment that we’re told didn’t end up happening.”
Notably, at WrestleMania 39, Team Bestie, comprised of Trish Stratus and Lita, made a memorable in-ring comeback to WWE. The duo teamed up with Becky Lynch in an electrifying six-woman tag team match against Damage CTRL’s Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY, captivating audiences with their nostalgic presence.
Although WrestleMania 39 marked Lita’s most recent in-ring appearance, Trish continued her WWE journey with a captivating feud against Becky, spanning nearly five months.
Their rivalry culminated in a showdown at Payback 2023 in September, where Lynch defeated Stratus.
Despite the missed opportunity at WrestleMania 40, both Stratus and Lita hinted at potential returns to WWE television this year, keeping fans eagerly anticipating their next moves.
