• 2 Released WWE Wrestlers Expected To Return In A New Role

According to Fightful Select, former WWE wrestlers Curtis Axel and Ariya Daivari could be returning to WWE under a new role.

On Friday’s SmackDown, they had a tryout as a Backstage Producer.

Axel worked with Tyson Kidd to produce the Liv Morgan vs. Sasha Banks match, while Daivari worked with Chris Park to produce the Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn match on SmackDown.

Curtis Axel (son of “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig), who is a former Intercontinental Champion & RAW Tag Team Champion, worked on the WWE main roster for 10 years. He got released in 2020 due to budget cuts.

On the other hand, Ariya Daivari wrestled in WWE for 5 years and was released in 2021. He is the younger brother of former WWE wrestler Shawn Daivari, who also works as a Backstage Producer in WWE.
