WWE announced earlier this week that Elias suffered an injury due to King Corbin’s attack last week on SmackDown. He suffered a bruised larynx and broken fingers.

WWE hinted a gimmick change for him by saying that Elias might not be able to play the guitar anymore, and his singing voice may be hurt as well due to the bruised larynx.

Below is what WWE posted:

“As first reported on WWE’s The Bump, Elias suffered a bruised larynx and broken middle and pinky fingers following the latest attack by King Corbin. The injuries have put Elias’ musical performances on hold, as they’ve hampered his ability to sing and play guitar.”

Another wrestler who’s gimmick could be changed in the near future is Shorty G. As we noted earlier, Shorty G might be one of the two hackers on SmackDown.

The Shorty G gimmick hasn’t been used much anyway.

Dave Meltzer noted the following on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“The rumor going around is Mustafa Ali is behind this. But there’s also been talk it may end up as both Ali and a remade Chad Gable, since the Shorty G gimmick needs to be done away with anyway.”
