Below are some top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving Drew McIntyre, Santos Escobar, Chris Hero and The Devil:

• There’s a lot of speculation going on regarding who could be the mystery person behind The Devil mask in AEW.

According to Fightful Select, several people in the company are aware of the identities of those who have portrayed this masked character in the past, and they have done a good job at keeping it a secret.

A source told them that the mystery man isn’t CM Punk. However, if Punk somehow ends up being revealed as The Devil, then it would be a huge work from AEW officials.

The source also noted that The Devil isn’t former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (Adam Cole’s girlfriend), as rumored in the past.

• Drew McIntyre turned heel on this week’s RAW (by joining forces with The Judgment Day) and Santos Escobar turned heel on last week’s SmackDown (by attacking fellow LWO member Rey Mysterio).

According to Fightful Select, McIntyre’s heel turn was planned for at least a couple of months.

PWInsider was asked if Escobar’s heel turn was booked due to Mysterio’s knee injury. They reported:

“It was always planned, and had Rey not gotten hurt, they would gone right into Live Events doing Rey vs. Escobar.”

• Former ROH wrestler Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno in WWE NXT) will return to the ring this weekend.

He will face former NXT wrestler Timothy Thatcher in West Coast Pro Wrestling in San Francisco, California.

Hero’s last match took place on the March 7th 2020 episode of NXT UK, where he competed in a Battle Royal to crown the #1 contender for the NXT UK Championship and lost.
