The WWE Crown Jewel 2024 premium live event is set for Saturday, November 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but two major stars won’t be part of the show.
CM Punk previously announced he would take a break following his Hell in a Cell match with Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood. During that match, McIntyre suffered a head injury from a toolbox shot delivered by Punk, requiring 16 staples to close the wound. McIntyre has since been absent from WWE programming.
According to PWInsider, there is currently no discussion of CM Punk or McIntyre being involved in Crown Jewel.
One source speculated that it wouldn’t be surprising if one or both returned by mid-to-late November.
McIntyre still needs medical clearance following his injury.
Fightful Select recently reported the following about Punk’s absence from Crown Jewel:
“It’s abundantly clear that he’s not working the Saudi show because of something from a moral standpoint and probably the things he said prior.”
In 2020, Punk said the following to The Miz:
“Go suck a blood money covered d*ck in Saudi Arabia you f**king dork.”
So far, WWE has announced the following for Crown Jewel 2024:
– Men’s Crown Jewel Championship Match: WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther
– Women’s Crown Jewel Championship Match: WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax vs. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan
– Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. “Big” Bronson Reed
Note: While not officially announced yet, Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens is expected to be added to this PLE.
