Below are a couple of important WWE news stories of the day:
– WWE NXT’s Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler, known as The Dyad, asked for their release from WWE earlier this year. However, the company denied their release so they’re waiting for their contracts to expire.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions only have two months left on their NXT deals, and will become Free Agents in October.
Jagger Reid took to Twitter to remind fans that he and Rip Fowler will depart WWE soon, and will be able to take bookings in 2024 once the no-compete clause in their contracts expires.
Reid took to Twitter and asked fans which Tag Teams would they like to see them against:
“2024 is only 4 months away.
Vs.???
LMK.”
The Dyad are a part of The Schism and currently feuding with The Creed Brothers on NXT. They weren’t happy about WWE repackaging them to their current gimmick and making them drop the Grizzled Young Veterans character.
– Roman Reigns retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso after Jimmy Uso returned and turned on his twin brother to put a shocking end to the Tribal Combat at SummerSlam last Saturday.
As noted before, the Wrestling Observer reported that The Tribal Chief suffered an injury early in the match with Jey.
In an update provided by them, it was noted that “Reigns suffered either a hip or back injury from the top from Jey Uso about five minutes into his main event match.”
The spot mentioned in the report can be seen in the video below:
