On this day in Pro Wrestling history on May 7, 2000, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired their annual ‘WCW Slamboree’ event LIVE on PPV from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.

This was the 8th and final Slamboree pay-per-view out of 8 that WCW aired between 1993 and 2000.

Famous Hollywood actor David Arquette main evented this pay-per-view event as the reigning and defending WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

As we noted before, WWE has confirmed that WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg will be a part of next month’s WWE PPV in Saudi Arabia.

Below is the official announcement:

WWE Superstars return to Jeddah

“RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA and STAMFORD, Conn. — The Saudi General Sports Authority, in partnership with WWE, will host an event at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, June 7, at 8 p.m. AST. The event will feature WWE Superstars Roman Reigns, Undertaker, Kofi Kingston, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Goldberg, AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar, and stream live on WWE Network.

Additional details on the event’s matches, ticket availability and pricing, and regional broadcast information will be announced in the coming weeks.”

According to Slice Wrestling, the following 3 names are being considered as possible opponents for Goldberg in Saudi Arabia:

– Roman Reigns

– Brock Lesnar

– Bobby Lashley

Goldberg was defeated by Lesnar in his last match back at WrestleMania 33. Earlier that year in 2017, Goldberg came face-to-face with Reigns on RAW and they joined forces to hit a double spear on Braun Strowman.
