5 Shocking Things Of The Week In Pro-Wrestling

2. Real Reason Behind Brock Lesnar Working House Show After 11 Years

As we noted before, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is advertised for the July 4th live event at the Ryougoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo. He is currently scheduled to wrestle Kofi Kingston at the event.

According to latest reports, Brock Lesnar is going to Japan to meet retired Wrestling Legend Masa Saito (AWA World Heavyweight Champion, 2x IWGP Tag Team Champion, 2x WWF World Tag Team Champion).

Below is what Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer posted:

“Lesnar and Brad Rheingans wanted to go to Japan to see Masa Saito. Just figured since he was going anyway, make it tax deductible, get his trans paid and work one show.”
Below is the full card for that House Show which will air live on the WWE Network at 6:30 am EST:
WWE NXT Title Match
Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens

WWE Divas Title Match
Paige vs. Naomi vs. Nikki Bella

WWE Tag Team Title Match
Cesaro and Tyson Kidd vs. The New Day

Brock Lesnar vs. Kofi Kingston

Chris Jericho vs. Neville

John Cena and Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane and King Barrett

The Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores

* It should be noted that there might be some changes in the Tag Title match as Tyson Kidd suffered a spinal cord injury before this week’s WWE Raw in a match with Samoa Joe. Also, Brock Lesnar’s opponent Kofi Kingston might be replaced by some other top star.
