WWE will be holding the last live SmackDown for the time being, tonight at the Performance Center. The show will revolve around Triple H, as they’ll celebrate his 25th anniversary with the company.
Last week’s show featured Bray Wyatt reminding Universal Champion Braun Strowman of his past, while Tamina earned a SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Bayley. Daniel Bryan and Dana Brooke qualified for their respective Money In The Bank Ladder matches, and The New Day won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in the main event.
Tonight’s show is set to feature a Women’s Tag Team Championship match between Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and Carmella & Dana Brooke. Moreover, Sasha Banks will take on Lacey Evans, and King Corbin will take on Drew Gulak in Money In The Bank Ladder match qualifying bouts. The show will also feature the history between Wyatt and Strowman.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at 5 things that could happen on SmackDown tonight.
5. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross Retain The Women’s Tag Team Championship
After winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship from The Kabuki Warriors at WrestleMania 36, and then successfully retaining it against them on the SmackDown after it, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will have their second Title defense tonight.
Bliss and Cross are set to take on the team of Dana Brooke and Carmella.
The Women’s Tag Team Champions will most likely retain their Titles, as their second reign isn’t even a month long yet. Besides, there was already a Title change on last week’s SmackDown, so another one for the second week in a row doesn’t look possible.
Brooke is already set to participate in this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match, so she’ll be more involved in its build-up.
However, WWE could plant the seeds for a fully fledged feud in the future between the two teams tonight. Brooke and Carmella may have such an impressive performance tonight, that they earn another shot at the Titles in the future.
