There’s little doubt that Ali’s meteoric rise over the past two years from a high-flyer on 205 Live to a top star on SmackDown Live has been one of the most compelling story – if not unlikely – in all of pro wrestling.
It’s surprising how a high flyer like Ali found success in WWE in a short span of time. At the end of 2018, he was a contender to win the WWE Title, but he got injured just a few month after that. He was rumored to face Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, but the match was scrapped.
Ali is set to face Buddy Murphy next week on SmackDown for the opportunity to advance into the next round of the King Of The Ring Tournament. With the way WWE has established Ali as a top guy on the blue brand, there’s a possibility that he may become King Of The Ring.
Not only is he highly talented, but also deserves a push on the blue brand, after losing the biggest opportunity of his career on the road to WrestleMania. Ali can surely use the win to elevate his career, and reach to the top of the mountain in WWE.
