2. Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton – WWE Championship Match
The direction WWE will be heading in with Kofi Kingston is pretty clear after this week’s SmackDown.
Daniel Bryan has already faced him. Aleister Black just joined, while other top stars like Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens are busy with other things. Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston may be a possibility, so is Roman Reigns vs. Kofi Kingston, but WWE hasn’t shown any signs of the latter.
Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton should be an intriguing rivalry, judging by the great chemistry between the two over the years. Orton returned to the ring this week on RAW to compete in the 10-man battle royal.
The Viper pinned Kingston clean in a six man tag team match on SmackDown this week, which may lead to a match between the two. With both guys looking for new opponents, WWE may set up a match between the two at the biggest party of the summer.
Orton has been dealing with some neck problems, but fortunately, they were minor and he’s good to go. It looks like Kingston is also healthy enough to continue his title reign (he was dealing with some back issues).
Fans are really behind Orton as he’s been getting huge pops from the crowd. Kingston vs. Orton is a rivalry many are familiar with, so it will be good to watch, after so many years. Specially with Kofi being the top guy this time.
