• AJ Styles On Why WWE Made Him Lose The WWE Championship Before Survivor Series 2018
Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles discussed his WWE Championship run from November 2017 to November 2018 during his Twitch stream.
Styles lost the Title to Daniel Bryan on an episode of SmackDown, which led to Bryan facing Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series a few weeks later.
The Phenomenal One revealed that the company didn’t want a rematch between him and Lesnar at Survivor Series, because that match had already happened at Survivor Series 2017.
“I think the reason why you saw that happen was because you already saw Brock Lesnar/AJ Styles and – oh man, I’m just not going to go there… Not you guys, I’m sure you guys would like to have seen the rematch of AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar but [WWE] didn’t think anyone else would.”
