• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 75th birthday of Old School WWF Legend “The Eighth Wonder of the World” André The Giant (Real name: André Roussimoff).
The 7-foot-2 (billed as 7-foot-4) Giant wrestled for various territories during the 60s, 70s, 80s & early 90s, but most famously for Vince McMahon Sr.’s World Wide Wrestling Federation since 1973 and later for Vince McMahon Jr.’s World Wrestling Federation.
During his time in the WWF, André wrestled at the first 6 WrestleManias, most famously main eventing WrestleMania III against “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan in front of 93,173 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.
The most famous giant in professional wrestling history became the very first ever inductee into the WWF Hall of Fame (now known as WWE Hall of Fame) in 1993, only 2 months after he passed away.
