AEW World Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler of FTR was arrested after turning himself in on Thursday night after being charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in Florida.
His arraignment took place on Friday morning. The prosecution noted that the incident that took place on Thursday, July 27th was “believed to be a road rage incident”. Wheeler allegedly “flashed a gun” at the other party during the incident and he does not know them personally.

According to Haus Of Wrestling, people in AEW weren’t aware of Wheeler’s situation until it came out in the news on Friday, and this includes several notable AEW roster members and top members of the company’s management.
It’s unknown if AEW President Tony Khan or Wheeler’s Tag Team partner Dax Harwood were aware of the situation, but one source gave the impression that Khan didn’t know anything. However, they weren’t able to confirm it.
Members of upper management were apparently completely unaware of what was unfolding.
FTR is set to speak on tonight’s episode of AEW Collision and are also booked for next week’s AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest to have a face-to-face interview with The Young Bucks ahead of their AEW World Tag Team Championship match at the All In PPV at Wembley Stadium in London on August 27th.
