Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Charlotte Flair and John Cena.

• Charlotte Flair returned to in-ring action after over a year and won her second Women’s Royal Rumble match. On RAW, fans booed Charlotte. The 14-time World Champion had the following to say about negative fan reaction:

“Stay happy, sad, little or BIG mad. I’m back!

Whether you love to hate me, Hate to love me.. I’m still the FIRST.”

On RAW, Charlotte said last year sucked and that last year broke her, both physically and mentally, referring to her injury recovery process and divorce from Andrade. She debated if she should choose to face Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, NXT Women’s Champion Giulia, or WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41.

Rhea came out and said she wants Charlotte to choose her and if she does, she’ll beat some respect out of her.

According to Fightful Select, people backstage in WWE expected a negative fan reaction for Flair, and Flair was obviously prepared for it as well.

• According to Billi Bhatti, WWE is planning a new premium live event in December 2025 to feature the final match of John Cena’s legendary career, and the name of this PLE might be “Ruthless Aggression”:

“I have learned that WWE are en route to setting up an additional PLE in the month of December. They are targeting TD Garden as the venue, which as you guys know is in Boston (Cena’s hometown), and I believe they will be setting that up as Cena’s farewell.

It was heavily discussed that during the (2024) holiday tour, which WWE does every year, that next year’s holiday tour would coincide with a PLE. So as opposed to this year’s tour where the main show takes place in Madison Square Garden—and by the way, I am not ruling out Madison Square Garden as the place where this happens—the final stop on the holiday tour would appear to be December 27. Saturday, December 27.

I even heard that the ‘Ruthless Aggression’ name was being bandied around, perhaps as a very good way to do it.”
